In 2015, Shea began working in community mental health, providing individual therapy and psychological evaluations for children in the foster care system. In 2016, Shea began working for a small school district in rural Kansas, while returning to school to become a School Psychologist. Shea graduated from Emporia State University in 2017 and has been practicing School Psychology since.
Shea has extensive knowledge in psychological testing, psychoeducation, special education, working with children with anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, and other mental health conditions. Shea believes a good therapeutic relationship is the foundation for change. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused brief therapy, person centered therapy, and motivational interviewing. She also uses techniques from Trauma-Focused CBT and play therapy techniques.
A Kansas native with small-town roots, Shea moved with her family to the Ft. Worth area in 2020, where she continues to practice as a School Psychologist. Outside of her professional life, she’s an adventurer at heart—traveling, hiking, kayaking, attending concerts, and indulging in good food. She also enjoys genealogy. As a mother of two boys, including one with Autism, Shea’s personal and professional worlds intersect in ways that fuel her passion for making a difference, both at home and in the community she serves.
